5 Tips for Building a Winning Postseason Roster

Picking the right 13 players from the NFL playoff field is harder than it looks. Here are five things to think about before you lock in your entry.

The entry window is short, the player pool is fixed, and your roster does not change once it is submitted. That makes your initial picks count for everything. Here are five things worth thinking through before you finalize your lineup.

1. Prioritize Teams Going Deep

Teams that advance further play more games. A running back on a team that reaches the Super Bowl can rack up points across five weeks. A receiver who gets eliminated in the wild card round gives you nothing after week one. Weight your picks toward teams you expect to make long runs.

2. Pay Attention to Position Order

The scoring system rewards decisiveness. The first quarterback you pick earns a small bonus. Selecting the same position multiple times later in your entry carries a slight reduction. Think through your order before you start filling in the form, not as you go.

3. Do Not Stack One Team

It is tempting to load up on players from one hot team, but if they lose early your entire roster takes a hit. Spreading picks across two or three teams gives you coverage if one squad gets bounced unexpectedly.

4. Check Injury Reports Before You Submit

The entry window closes Wednesday at midnight, right before the first game Saturday. Use the days leading up to the deadline to check injury reports and depth charts. A running back listed as questionable is a risk you can avoid if you wait and see.

5. Pick a Team Name You Can Search For

If you enter multiple teams, you will be filtering the leaderboard by name, email, or phone to find your entries. A distinct, memorable team name makes that much easier. The platform requires every team name to be unique across all entries, so something generic is likely already taken.

Good luck this postseason. The first game kicks off Saturday and rosters lock Wednesday night.
